Today’s Feast – September 29th

With 0 Comments,

Dear Friends,

Today, September 29, the Church celebrates the Feast of Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. On this day we are called to understand the importance of the day and its implications for our daily life as Catholics. Michael means 'who is like God,' Gabriel means, 'God is my strength,' and Raphael, 'God heals.'  Archangel Michael is venerated among Catholics and invoked to cast out the demons and to fight battles. The most important battle we have to fight is against our own temptations, so that we become more of the image of God in which He created us. Archangel Gabriel reminds us that only God can be our stronghold. We can find protection only in Him. Moreover as messenger of God, Gabriel nourishes us with God's message and Word. Archangel Raphael brings us God's healing which we and the world are in urgent need of. Only God can heal us of our wounds, physical, psychological and spiritual.

So let us fight the good fight against sin and temptations; let us read the Word of God and find strength and energy for our life; and let us pray for healing.

Finally let us say a prayer for those who are weak and sick, and for peace in the World.

May God bless you!
