CATCA Evangelical Marian Committee – Role and Responsibilities
Purpose
The Evangelical Marian Committee is established to deepen devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and to promote evangelization through prayer, reflection, and service. The committee seeks to nurture faith formation among members, strengthen family spirituality, and encourage participation in Marian devotions and evangelistic outreach within the CATCA community.
1. Mission Statement
To foster a vibrant Marian spirituality within CATCA by inspiring faith in Jesus Christ through the example and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, while encouraging evangelization, prayer, and charitable service rooted in Catholic tradition.
2. Objectives
- To promote Marian devotion through prayer, rosary, novenas, pilgrimages, and feast-day celebrations.
- To support evangelization efforts that strengthen personal and community faith life.
- To encourage spiritual growth through catechesis, reflection, and family prayer initiatives.
- To collaborate with other CATCA committees to integrate Marian spirituality into events and ministries.
- To serve as a spiritual support arm for parish and community outreach activities.
3. Roles and Responsibilities
A. Chairperson
- Provide spiritual and administrative leadership to the committee.
- Coordinate meetings, prayer gatherings, and special events.
- Work closely with the CATCA Executive Committee to align activities with the organization’s mission.
- Represent the committee at CATCA meetings and report on ongoing initiatives.
B. Spiritual Coordinator
- Lead Marian devotions such as the Rosary, May and October Marian months, and special feast days.
- Collaborate with clergy or spiritual advisors for retreats, reflections, and prayer services.
- Encourage members’ active participation in evangelization and prayer ministry.
- Ensure all activities uphold Catholic teachings and Marian spirituality.
C. Event and Outreach Coordinator
- Plan and organize Marian processions, pilgrimages, and community evangelization events.
- Support parish missions, retreats, and faith formation activities.
- Coordinate with the Event Management and Cultural Committees for joint events.
- Promote charitable initiatives inspired by Mary’s compassion and humility.
D. Communication and Promotion
- Share Marian messages, reflections, and prayer intentions through CATCA communication channels.
- Manage event announcements, newsletters, or digital content related to Marian devotions.
- Collaborate with the Media & Communications Committee for online evangelization efforts.
E. Committee Members
- Participate actively in prayer meetings, rosaries, and evangelization programs.
- Support planning, logistics, and volunteer needs for Marian and outreach events.
- Serve as ambassadors of faith, prayer, and unity within the community.
4. Membership
- Open to all CATCA members devoted to deepening their Marian faith and participating in evangelization.
- Members are encouraged to demonstrate commitment through prayer, service, and participation in committee activities.
- The committee may include a Chairperson, Spiritual Coordinator, Event Coordinator, Communications Lead, and volunteers.
5. Meetings and Reporting
- The committee shall meet regularly (monthly or bi-monthly) for planning and prayer.
- Reports of events, achievements, and upcoming plans shall be submitted to the Executive Committee as needed.
6. Collaboration
- Collaborate with other CATCA committees—Liturgy, Youth, Cultural, and Outreach—to incorporate Marian spirituality into broader community activities.
- Work in unity with parish and diocesan ministries for shared spiritual growth.
7. Spiritual Guidelines
The committee shall promote unity, peace, and charity as reflections of Mary’s faithfulness.
All activities shall be conducted in accordance with Catholic faith and Marian devotion.
Members are encouraged to practice humility, service, and prayer modeled after the Blessed Mother.
