CATCA Anbium Coordination Committee – Role and Responsibilities

Purpose

The CATCA Anbium Coordination Committee is established to provide leadership, unity, and coordination among all Anbiums under CATCA (Capital Area Tamil Catholic Association). The committee ensures that each Anbium—small faith-sharing community—functions in alignment with CATCA’s spiritual, cultural, and charitable mission while fostering fellowship, prayer, and service at the local level.

Mission Statement

To strengthen CATCA’s community life by coordinating the efforts of all Anbiums, encouraging faith formation, spiritual growth, and active participation in parish and CATCA activities, inspired by Christian fellowship and service.

Objectives

• To serve as a liaison between the CATCA Executive Committee and all local Anbiums.

• To promote spiritual unity, shared learning, and collaboration among Anbiums.

• To support the establishment and growth of new Anbiums within the CATCA community.

• To facilitate communication, planning, and consistency of activities across Anbiums.

• To encourage prayer, service, and cultural participation at the grassroots level.

Roles and Responsibilities

A. Chairperson / Coordinator

• Provide overall leadership to the Anbium Coordination Committee.

• Schedule and lead coordination meetings with all Anbium leaders.

• Represent the Anbium Coordination Committee at CATCA Executive meetings.

• Oversee the alignment of Anbium activities with CATCA’s mission and annual calendar.

• Encourage unity and collaboration among Anbiums across regions.

B. Vice Chairperson / Assistant Coordinator

• Assist the Chairperson in coordination and communication efforts.

• Lead meetings or represent the committee in the absence of the Chairperson.

• Support event organization and inter-Anbium activities.

• Facilitate mentoring and guidance for new or emerging Anbiums.

C. Secretary

• Maintain records of meetings, attendance, and decisions.

• Document reports from each Anbium and compile quarterly summaries.

• Communicate upcoming events, prayer schedules, and initiatives to all Anbium leads.

• Maintain a contact list of all Anbium coordinators and active members.

D. Treasurer / Finance Representative

• Oversee financial contributions, donations, or collections made during Anbium events.

• Ensure proper accounting and submission of funds to CATCA’s Finance Committee.

• Assist Anbiums with budgeting for spiritual, cultural, or outreach activities.

• Provide periodic financial summaries to the CATCA Finance and Executive Committees.

E. Regional Anbium Coordinators

• Serve as the primary link between their local Anbium and the CATCA Anbium Coordination Committee.

• Work collaboratively with CATCA Board Members to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information to all Anbium members.

• Communicate CATCA announcements, event details, and initiatives to their regional members and ensure feedback is shared with the Coordination Committee.

• Encourage active participation of their members in CATCA-wide spiritual, cultural, and charitable programs.

• Organize and lead local prayer gatherings, fellowship meetings, and community service projects.

• Support the onboarding of new members and help maintain updated contact lists for their region.

• Foster unity and collaboration among nearby Anbiums to strengthen community bonds.

F. Spiritual Advisor (Optional / Clergy Liaison)

• Provide spiritual guidance and oversight for all Anbium activities.

• Offer support for prayer meetings, reflections, or formation programs.

• Ensure all events are rooted in Catholic faith and values.

Committee Membership

The Committee shall consist of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Regional Anbium Representatives. Members shall serve for a designated term (typically one year) as defined in CATCA’s bylaws. New members may be nominated or elected based on active involvement and leadership within their Anbiums.

Meetings

The Committee shall meet quarterly or as needed to coordinate activities and review progress. Anbium leaders’ meetings may be organized to discuss spiritual, cultural, and administrative updates. Minutes of meetings shall be recorded and shared with the Executive Committee.

Key Activities

• Facilitate monthly or seasonal prayer gatherings among Anbiums.

• Organize inter-Anbium fellowship events, retreats, or charitable initiatives.

• Share resources, best practices, and spiritual materials among Anbiums.

• Coordinate participation of Anbiums in CATCA events (Masses, cultural programs, outreach, etc.).

• Promote unity while respecting the unique character of each Anbium.

Communication and Reporting

Maintain open and consistent communication among all Anbium leaders. Share event calendars, updates, and reflection materials through CATCA channels. Submit quarterly and annual reports summarizing activities, growth, and needs of each Anbium to the Executive Committee.

Collaboration

Work closely with the Evangelical Marian Committee, Cultural Committee, and Charity and Outreach Committee for spiritual and service-based programs. Encourage Anbium participation in all CATCA faith, family, and community initiatives.

Spiritual and Ethical Guidelines

• Promote unity, humility, and service in all Anbium gatherings and interactions.

• Ensure that all teachings and devotions are consistent with Catholic faith and traditions.

• Respect cultural diversity and individual differences among members.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding personal intentions and discussions shared during prayer meetings.

Accountability and Evaluation

Each Anbium is accountable to the Anbium Coordination Committee and ultimately to the CATCA Executive Committee. Annual evaluations may be conducted to review the effectiveness, participation, and spiritual growth of Anbiums.
